Someone wonderful sent me this card. It's so lovely I wanted to share it with all my friends out there. I send my love and send you blessings for being here with me this past year.
Remember too that the gift that started all this foo-faa-rah that we do this time of the year as a part of showing our love for one another, was a gift from god. Today is the 2nd night of Hanukkah, the second night of Winter and just a few days away from Christmas. Christmas is when we celebrate the least among us who came to share in humanity for godly reasons. Even if you don't "believe," it's a nice mythic story to feel all warm and fuzzy over.
Here is an interesting observation from the big dudes and dudettes of the Anglican church on behalf of the Magi -- The Three "Wise" Persons who visited the child and left gold, frankincense and myrrh. Fascinating.
Finally, HERE is a nice revisionist view of how things might really have been IF there really had been Wise Women bringing gifts, and a more realistic view of the other characters in the saga. It's worth the time to read through it.
Pray for those stranded in the winter freeze. Be thankful if you have heat and lights, and be nice even though you're tired and cranky because you've done too much this week. The majority of us are pretty strung out too.
