Real Conversation Today

Student: Is it true you have cancer?
Me: I'm hoping that I don't anymore, but yes, I was treated for it this last year.
Student: What kind of cancer do you have?
Me: Breast cancer.
Student: What part of your body is that?

(I swear -- and that's a regular education student too.)

I shouldn't have been, I know, but I laughed so hard at that. I wish I could say only in Haralson County, but no, sadly, stupidity is everywhere. The question most commonly asked by that particular child for the rest of their life will be "would you like fries with that?"

Since the difference between stupidity and ignorance is that ignorance is curable, I hope the student is just ignorant.

You've got to give this studetn credit though. He/she at least ASKED and was interested enough (and brave enough) to ask.
I wonder what your answer was.
